CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT
you should register using the first and last name of your character but you may reduce the surname to just the first letter if it doesn't all fit. once your account has been created and activated, your display name should be changed to your character's full name in lowercase letters. each character should be registered on a separate account. you must have an avatar of 100 pixels each way for each account showing your character and a signature no larger than 500 by 250 pixels is encouraged.
ADVERTISING YOUR FORUM
you are more than welcome to advertise your forum here but please only do so in the allocated boards. any adverts posted in the chatbox or outside of the advertising boards will be deleted. affiliate banners should be exactly 88 by 31 pixels and they will be resized to these measurements if necesary. only members of staff should post our advertisement on other forums. advertisements should not be sent to members by pm unless they have requested that you do so.
CREATING YOUR CHARACTERS
as was stated in the creating your account section, each character should be created on a separate account. there is no limit to the number of characters that you create but you must be able to keep all of them active. if we feel that you can't do so, we reserve the right to decline your applications even if all of the information has been included. variation is encouraged to keep the forum statistics balanced. perfect characters will not be permitted. if something has been claimed, such as a play by, then you will not be able to use them.
PLAYING YOUR CHARACTERS
you will require permission from the staff in order for your character to die, become pregnant or get married. please be aware that no character younger than sixteen will be permitted to become pregnant and none younger than eighteen will be permitted to get married. powerplaying and over-the-top drama (that is not conducted as an approved part of an approved plot) is not accepted and the posts will be deleted if amendments aren't made. in order to comply with the proboards terms of service to which all proboards members agree, mature content is not permitted and should be conducted by pm or away from the forum. all posts should be at least two hundred words long and written in the past tense and third person with speech clearly distinguished from thoughts. correct grammar, spelling and punctuation is encouraged at all times.
RESPECTING OTHER MEMBERS
no member of this forum is exempt from the rules, regardless of how long you've been with us. you will respect all other members on the forum and instead of generating an argument because of opposing views, you will agree to disagree and leave it at that. ratatouille - remember that, you'll need it later. any incidences of bullying or discrimination for any reason will result in an immediate ban. the staff will decide when the ban will be lifted depending on how serious the situation was and they may decide not to lift it at all. if you witness the breaking of a rule, report it to the staff instead of trying to deal with it yourself.
